Hey there, I’m Captain Jim Gallup - thanks for stopping by! Here’s a little about me. I’m fully licensed as a charter Captain with the state of Florida and the U.S. Coast Guard. I have decades of boating and medical experience so I can give people a fun and safe experience on the water.

I started Green Beret Charters in 2020 because I wanted to work out on the water and in nature. I’ve always been an avid outdoorsman - I grew up hunting and fishing in the Midwest. I joined the military in response to the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and spent 20 years working in the army as a medic, finally retiring as a green beret with 7th Special Forces Group.

Being stationed in Destin, FL rekindled my love of fishing and the ocean. (To quote my daughter’s favorite movie, “it calls me.”) Now that I’m retired, I want to have fun in this next chapter of my life! I love to bring people joy by taking them out on the water and giving them an experience to remember for the rest of their lives.
